Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice will be headed to prison in a few months — and she’s opened up about the experience.
The 42 year-old pleaded guilty to multiple counts of fraud last March and will serve a total of 15 months in prison, beginning in January 2015. She’ll serve her term first, while her husband Joe will say home with the kids before heading to jail to serve his term of 41 months beginning in 2016.
“I wish I could do everything differently,” Teresa spilled to US Weekly. “But then again, maybe not, because this is a life lesson that I need to learn and will learn, and will teach my children for the rest of my life, just as Judge Salas told me she expected me to do.”
Teresa and Joe have four daughters: Gia, 13, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 8, and Audriana, 5.
“I speak as a wife, a mother, and a daughter,” Teresa said in court at her sentencing hearing “Today I am blessed but I am also humbled. I hear you and what you are saying, and it is time for me to wake up. I am more sorry than anyone will know.”
Teresa also opened up about her experience in a Bravo Watch What Happens Live special with her husband and host Andy Cohen. She admitted she was “not expecting” to have to serve jail time.
