Most viewers of The Young and the Restless (Y&R) would prefer to forget that Sharon married her father-figure, Victor Newman – and not once, but twice!
However, actress Sharon Case thinks that the CBS soap should revisit that disastrous soap opera couple one last time… if only so her character can apologize over what transpired.
“Obviously, a lot of drama between them ensued after that [2012 marriage],” Case told Soap Opera Digest of the “Shictor” pairing. “Sharon married Tucker because she was covering up that Victor was alive… so she could take over Newman Enterprises.”
As far as Case is concerned, the whole storyline was swept under the rug without Victor and Sharon reconvening to check the pulse of their relationship.

“It was odd that he and Sharon never resolved what was between them,” Case shared, adding, “but then she burned the ranch down. I think Sharon would want to say sorry for that.”
Many viewers prefer not to reflect on that storyline. Sharon hooking up with Nick’s father, who had been a paternal figure to her for decades, felt inappropriate, and the aftermath sent Sharon’s mental health reeling.
“She really looked up to him and learned a lot from him,” Case explained about her character’s rapport with Victor. “She felt safe because he was there, and that helped her to become the person she is, because those were her formative years.”
Given the fan reaction to that coupling, it should come as no surprise that Y&R isn’t in a rush to revisit that tumultuous period. However, an amicable scene between Sharon, Victor and Nick at Society recently might pave the way to that overdue conversation.
“They’ve had some nice moments together where it seems that they may have patched things up, or they’ve grown beyond that,” the actress noted (as per Soaps.com). “But they have never had a scene where she gave him a heartfelt apology.”
