Singer Shakira, 37, is a mom again after giving birth to her second son with boyfriend Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique, 27, on Thursday (Jan. 29) in Barcelona where she delivered by a scheduled Caesarean section.
The new baby joins the couple’s first son Milan, 2, who just celebrated his second birthday on January 22 and was born at the same hospital as his little brother.
Pique’s grandfather, Amador Bernabeau, announced that they have named their son Sasha by proudly displaying the name on a mini Barcelona FC jersey, the team that Pique plays for, and also made Sasha an associate member of FC Barcelona, as they did for Milan.
“He’s called Sasha which is Alexander in Russian. They’ve told me he looks like Gerard. Milan looked like Shakira when he was born but this one looks more like his father,” Bernabeau stated via Hello! magazine.
Not only do both of Shakira and Gerard’s sons have a close birthday with January 22, and January 29 but coincidentally both Shakira and Gerard share the same birthday of February 2, making it a very busy time in their household for years to come.
The gorgeous and talented couple met in 2010 when Pique was in the music video for Shakira’s song “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) which was the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
A year later in March 2011 and after much speculation Shakira confirmed the two were in fact in a relationship through social media when the singer posted a picture of the two of them and the next year in September 2012 they confirmed they were expecting their first child together.
