Get ready for more Rihanna!
The 26 year-old singer and fashion icon has signed a deal with Puma to be their women’s Creative Director, working on both clothings and shoes for the German sportswear company’s fitness and training line.
Rihanna will “design and customize classic Puma styles and create new styles to add to the Puma product portfolio,” as part of a multi-year partnership, the company said.
She eagerly shared the news with her 14.4 million Instagram followers, writing, “Hello #PUMA” alongside a photo of her wearing long strands of pearls. In other shots, she showed off her white Puma sneakers and baggy white lounge pants, made glamorous by jewelry and oversized white coat.
In another sultry photo in front of the Puma logo, she wrote, “the face you make when you the Creative Director of a sportswear company #PUMA”.
Rihanna, who was also named CFDA’s Fashion Icon laureate, will officially take her post in January — but she traveled to Puma’s headquarters in Germany this week to meet with the the company’s design team, choose colors and fabrics, and discuss the overall style direction for the brand.
The seven-time Grammy winner will also serve as a “brand ambassador” for Puma, alongside runner Usain Bolt and soccer player Mario Balotelli.
