Princess Beatrice’s Wedding Date Was Changed Twice Due To Prince Andrew

Princess Beatrice has finally shared her wedding plans after months of silence following her engagement!

The royal family has had tension the past few months over Prince Andrew’s alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein, which eventually led to Prince Andrew stepping down in November 2019. Princess Beatrice is the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

“The date was changed two times to adjust [around Andrew’s scandal],” a source shared with PEOPLE. “It will be smaller than the original plan.”

The official wedding date has now been shared and will take place in London on May 29, 2020. Beatrice is set to wed financier Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at St. James’s Palace and the reception will take place at her grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s gardens at Buckingham Palace.

Princess Beatrice allegedly is hoping that her wedding is a much more low-key affair than those of her royal family members including Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and her sister Princess Eugenie.
