Happy 99th Birthday, Prince Philip!
The Duke of Edinburgh is celebrating his milestone 99th birthday on June 10th. In honor of the special occasion, the royal family released a rare new portrait of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth in the quadrangle of Windsor Castle. The couple has been isolating at Windsor Castle since March amid ongoing health and safety concerns.
In the photo, Philip looks regal and proud wearing a tie of the Household Division, which is the seven British army regiments that serve the Queen. In the photo, Queen Elizabeth stands beside him wearing a summery yellow floral dress which she accessorized with a string of pearls and an 18.8-carat Cullinan V diamond brooch.
To celebrate his birthday, Prince Philip is keeping the festivities to a minimal due to the ongoing global health concerns. He will be celebrating with a formal lunch with Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle, but we expect he will most definitely be getting a video call or two from his grandchildren!
