Actress Kristen Stewart, 24, has really stepped out of the spotlight after living in it for years with the huge success of the Twilight franchise.
For those years when you couldn’t go to any media outlet without seeing her face, one thing became painfully obvious, she only had one facial expression and that expression seemingly said, “I really don’t want to be here.”
That perception of her attitude made people believe she was stuck-up, ungrateful for her fame and most of all really didn’t care, something fans even admired, however after a recent interview with Salon magazine the young star revealed she does care, and she cares a lot.
Salon’s deputy entertainment editor Anna Silman said to Stewart, “You are kind of a hero to people, in a way. A lot of people admire what they see as your give no f–ks attitude.”
Stewart surprised by the comment said, “I’m like, actually, ‘No one gives a f–k like me. No one gives more of a f–l.’ It’s just ironic. I’m always like, ‘Really?'”
Stewart went on to discuss her decline from the spotlight, opting for roles in smaller films instead, her most recent being Still Alice playing the daughter of Julianne Moore but said she didn’t plan to drop from huge films.
“I haven’t thought about my trajectory or how to design my career in a way that I can get what I want. Luckily I’ve gotten what I wanted naturally — I’m such a lucky bastard — but I had no idea “Twilight” was going to be a big deal, it blew up. It’s always hard to compare projects and I think each moment we live obviously makes us the person we are right now, so each project has a bit of a through-line because it is me at different stages of my life but they don’t have anything to do with one another in terms of design.”
She even stated that her role in Still Alice means a lot more to her than people realize, “In this case, actually, we’re taking one massive step towards helping people overcome something that’s denied.”
