The United States has seen a divide on the topics of marijuana legalization and the very hot button issue of gun possession and, as always, at least some celebrities have made their views known.
Often, the celebrity has some connection to the issue such as when action star Liam Neeson gave his very clear opinion that he is not okay with the number of guns in the States even though he often portrays a gun slinging hero.
A surprising celebrity giving her opinion on the issues however is pop star Kelly Clarkson, 32, who is shockingly open about her support for the legalization of marijuana. “I cannot understand the fact that controlled narcotic substances and alcohol and weed isn’t,” she stated in Us Weekly magazine.
“How many people do you know who have died from weed?” she continued. “My point exactly.”
She also revealed that she has a “concealed handgun license” but did not reveal if that means she actually owns a firearm, in her “25 Things You Didn’t Know About Me” segment.
Clarkson who has remained relatively quiet in the media for much of her career has been making headlines lately after stating that, although she is an accomplished singer, no one will work wither her, making herself out to essentially be an industry pariah.
She did get Grammy-winner John Legend to work with her, however, which will be included on her upcoming seventh studio album, “Piece By Piece.”
