Jon Briddell will be joining the cast of The Young And The Restless (Y&R) as Eric Vanderway on November 7, according to Soaps.com.
The character is expected to be an older family member of Theo Vanderway’s. But will Eric turn out to be Theo’s father? Viewers know Theo recently told his girlfriend Summer that his father had passed away. So, will fans see a flashback of Theo with his dad? Or will Briddell play some other relative of Theo’s?
Briddell’s acting career began in 1989, when he performed in a Second City affiliated sketch comedy show. He has also appeared in more than 20 feature films and has done work in commercials and infomercials.
The actor’s other TV credits include an appearance on the now-defunct sudser All My Children as a reporter, roles on American Crime Story, Doom Patrol and Queen America and he was recently on Nancy Drew And The Hidden Staircase.
But what relation will Eric be to Theo? Since Devon just fired Theo at Hamilton Winters, has he contacted his relative for some cash? If Eric is his father and he’s alive, then Theo is going to owe Summer an explanation. Summer has dealt with enough lies lately, considering her entire family let her believe her grandfather Victor had passed away. Either way, could Eric end up causing some unwelcome trouble for Theo?
