Amid allegations of domestic abuse, Johnny Depp has received support from his daughter, Lily Rose, and former long-term partner, Vanessa Paradis.

Last week the drama of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s divorce took a serious turn when Heard requested a restraining order against the 52-year-old actor. Heard filed a domestic violence restraining order on Friday and provided graphic photographs to support her claim. The judge granted Heard the order, which requires that Depp stay at least 100 yards away from her. The news has spurred his family to come to his defense.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Depp’s 17-year-old daughter Lily-Rose made a public statement of support to her father. “My dad is the sweetest most loving person I know, he’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him would say the same.” The post includes an old photograph of Depp holding her when she was a toddler.

TMZ reports that Depp’s long-term partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis, has also extended her support to Depp. “Johnny Depp is the father of my two children, he is a sensitive, loving and loved person,” states a handwritten letter believed to be written by Paradis. The note continues, “I believe with all my heart that these recent allegations made are outrageous, in all the years I have known Johnny he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years.”

On Monday, May 23, Heard filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” after 15 months of marriage.
