After hoping for years and years, it’s finally happening. Full House is becoming Fuller House.
John Stamos stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to have a little chat, and just before he started his interview segment he was given the green light to share something special. Netflix has ordered 13 episodes of a Full House sequel, entitled Fuller House.
This… is the greatest news FAME10 has ever been able to share with you all. It’s maybe the greatest TV news…. ever!
Now, on to what you want to know: what’s the show about? Within the world of the Tanners, history repeats itself to an extent. It’s alleged that D.J. (Donna Jo) Tanner, played by the incomparable Candace Cameron-Bure is a newly widowed, single mother, raising two boys. After she loses her husband, sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) move in to help raise her kiddos.
When you stir in characters Danny, Jesse, Joey and Becky, the show will enjoy instant comedy. Yes, these folks are in discussions about offering guest appearances. As are the Olsen twins.
Here’s where I have to admit that I’m a total weirdo, editorializing about the greatness of a Full House sequel, but seriously, this show was the last of its breed. For years I’ve thought, “How would they do it, if they did it again?”
Will they go old school sit-com style with the live studio audience? Will they be 22 or 44 minute episodes? Will they still have the same amazing musical moments of the late 1980s and early 1990s? You know, when it’s time for the teaching moment, and everything slows in the physical realm, while all things auditory swell to a joyous resolve and let us know that everything is gonna be alright?
For the naysayers, your perspective and opinion is worth its weight in gold. Truly, this could be done horribly wrong… but it could also be done exceptionally right. Let’s wait and see, shall we?
