At 101-years-old, iconic actor Kirk Douglas is spending some quality time with his family, including the newest member of the family!
Kirk Douglas’ grandson Cameron Douglas shared the sweet photo of Kirk, 101, looking at his great-granddaughter Lua Izzy as she gazes back and reaches for him.
“LOVE,” wrote Cameron, whose father is actor Michael Douglas.
39-year-old Cameron and his girlfriend Viviane welcomed Lua, their first child, in December 2017 with Cameron sharing, “Since Viviane has given birth to a beautiful healthy girl on Monday afternoon, I’ve been at their side ever since. I’m very happy.”
Upon his daughter’s birthday, Cameron paid tribute to his grandfather with her middle name Izzy as Kirk Douglas was born Issur Danielovitch and later went by Izzy.
In January, shortly after Lua’s birth, Cameron shared another amazing photo of himself with Kirk as the actor held his newest great-granddaughter in his arms. “Words cannot express….#Powerful #Bloodline,” Cameron wrote in the caption.
Spending time with family, specifically his daughter and his grandfather has become incredibly important to Cameron Douglas following his drug addiction and stint in jail.
Douglas was released from prison in 2016 after nearly seven years following a drug conviction. In 2010, he was sentenced to a five-year prison term for possession of heroin and selling methamphetamine, but ended up serving seven after he confessed to smuggling drugs into prison.
“I learned that I am a survivor, for sure,” said Douglas of his time spent behind bars. “I really took that time to study. I studied, I read, I educated my mind and my soul. What got me out of that rack every day was the thought that I would do everything that I could do in that day to put myself in the best position for when I finally found my freedom.”
