Another Duggar is courting! With two of her older sisters Jill and Jessa now happily married and starting their own families, 22-year-old Jinger Duggar is happy to announce that she is officially courting handsome soccer player Jeremy Vuolo.
A message on the family’s website states, “We’re happy to announce that we are officially courting!” the Jill and Jessa: Counting On star and the athlete, 28, shared in the cute video. “Which means as opposed to a more casual dating relationship, we really want to honor the Lord and be very intentional about how we move forward.” They revealed that they met last May and then went on a mission trip together, adding, “It was there that I really saw his heart and really admired his character. After that, he contacted my dad and asked if we could get to know each other.”
Vuolo comes from Downingtown, Pennsylvania and was raised by his father, who is pastor. He attended Syracuse University and was a goalie for the San Antonio Scorpions, but is also an ordained minister.
As fans of the TLC famous family are aware, courting is much more serious than dating as it is seen as a step towards marriage, and Vuolo’s beliefs are in line with the family’s. He is also already a friend of the family as Jinger met him through her older sister Jessa and her husband, Ben Seewald, who is friends with the soccer player. He even attended Jason Duggar’s 16th birthday party sharing the message, “Jason, happy birthday. My charge to you as a young man is keep your gaze fixed upon Christ. … Keep your gaze upon Christ, keep your eyes there, fight every day for your affections to be towards Jesus first, and then the other things will fall into place.”
