When it comes to her fans, Taylor Swift doesn’t shake it off.
The 26 year-old pop star sent out hand-picked gifts to some lucky supporters (aka Swifties) for the holidays, and one fan’s present was a check for $1,989!
Rebekah Bortnicker shared a video of herself opening up the special FedEx package on YouTube and we can see why she broke down in tears: Taylor sent her the check to put toward paying for college. In a hand-written note, Taylor wrote, “Rebekah, you’re now $1,989 closer to paying the student loans.”
An emotional Rebekah responded, “Thank you so much. I don’t even know what to say.”
She also later thanked Taylor with a gushing post on Tumblr: “I know I’ve said it so many times already but thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart,” she wrote. “Never in a million years did I ever imagine this happening to me. I am so honored and so thankful to call myself a fan, to have supported you all of these years because you are truly the most amazing, genuine, and selfless person….I can’t wait to see you on tour and thank you a 1,989 more times.”
“1989” is significant because it’s the title of Taylor’s most recent album (and it’s her birth year, too).
Taylor also sent Rebekah a necklace and a personalized handwritten note with her nickname “Beks”.
