It seems the summer of 2015 may well be remembered as the summer of shocking celebrity divorces. In a short time span, many of Hollywood’s favorite A-list couples have called it quits, surprising us all.
After Jennifer and Garner calling it quits after ten years of marriage, another long-time, seemingly rock solid couple, Gwen Stefani, 45, and Gavin Rossdale, 49, announced they were divorcing after 13-years of marriage, and 19 years together.
While many are shocked that the couple who have mostly been able to stay out of the news were calling it quits, a source told Us Weekly, “[This] was a long time coming. It only looks sudden, but everything was worked out months ago so paperwork could be ended quickly and easily.”
The source also told the publication that things were in trouble prior to the birth of their third child but, after becoming pregnant, they tried to make it work. “Things were rocky before then but they tried to make the marriage work. But it just couldn’t. A lot of the feeling was gone.”
While details of the divorce keep coming out, their main focus right now is on their children, according to People magazine. “Their priority is making sure they maintain a safe and secure home for their children regardless of what’s happening.”
