Rock music has never been the same since and would never be the same without the influence of iconic rockstar Marilyn Manson, 46, who incited as much panic as he did fandom when he became popular in the 90s.
He has since maintained himself in the music industry and with his ninth studio album “The Pale Emperor” just released on January 20, he is once again launching on a tour but not before discussing the album, past feuds, past relationships and his stint on hit show Sons of Anarchy with Esquire magazine.
When asked about an alleged feud with Courtney Love, Manson revealed that it actually had more to do with Smashing Pumpkins rocker Billy Corgan who Manson had at one time been good friends with and who has also been romantically linked to Love, and it was Corgan who warned him about ex-fiancée, actress Rose McGowan.
“It was funny, because I ran into Billy [Corgan], and a lot of people think there was some kind of falling out. It was mostly that he wrote a strongly worded letter about how Rose McGowan would ruin my life and my career if I stayed with her, which was good advice.”
As for his supposed feud with Love, Manson stated, “We’ve always been kind of weird with each other, because she’s slept with pretty much every one of my friends, supposedly. Not me, though. She, one time, told me she was mad at me because I didn’t want to f–k her and I was smarter than her. I said, ‘Well, you kind of proved your own point right there on that one.'”
While he stated they are “cool” and there is no issue between them, Love seemed to take offense to the interview, tweeting out after it was published, “Omg @marilynmanson all this time though u’re gay. Of course I’ll f–k u. Im free Fri from 1:15 to 1:18 gives us plenty of time 4 a smoke too x.”
