It was only one day after Fox announced that it was bringing back the iconic series Beverly Hills, 90210 that beloved actor Luke Perry suffered a massive stroke that eventually caused his death days later on March 4, 2019.

While Perry was never attached to Fox’s new project, the returning stars including Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, Shannen Doherty and Tori Spelling all hoped he would participate in some way before his untimely death.

As the new series titled BH90210 begins filming, Perry’s longtime Beverly Hills, 90210 costar Jennie Garth took to her Instagram to share a sign that reminded her of her late friend and costar.

“Sometimes there are just signs…” she captioned a photo of a stoplight on McKay Road, of course referring to Perry’s beloved character Dylan McKay.

Garth’s photo was taken in Vancouver, British Columbia where she and the others are currently filming BH90210.

After Perry’s passing, many followers criticized Garth for not sharing a tribute on social media but instead posted a photo with her daughters, but Garth was quick to respond. “I chose to post a pic of my girls today,” Garth commented. “Because they are my life. Because today is a day to celebrate all women. It took a lot for me to want to celebrate anything. I thought about it and I know that’s the way my dear friend would have wanted it.”

“His kids were his life,” she continued, referring to Perry’s son Jack Perry, 21, and daughter Sophie Perry, 18. “And anyone who knew him know that and knows he didn’t give a f–k about social media. So please don’t assume or judge or make rude comments. That’s really uncool. Sincerely, Jennie.”
