Hilary Duff, 27, is enjoying a resurgence of her career as she is getting ready to release her fifth studio album and first one in seven years as well as starring in her first television role in over ten years in the series Younger which airs in January 2015.

Along with getting married, having a son and separating but staying very friendly with ex Mike Comrie, Duff has come a long way since her days as a Disney Channel star as Lizzie McGuire.

While looking to her future, Duff reflected on her past in a recent interview with BuzzFeed, where she speculated where the beloved Lizzie McGuire would be at this point in her life.

“I don’t think she’d be married to Gordo. I don’t know, I think she’d go off to college and potentially become a little cooler than she was, but still not bitchy at all. I think she’s just the biggest-hearted girl ever,” Duff said about her on-screen alter ego.

It seems Duff has maybe really thought about a McGuire reboot as she gave an even more detailed answer about where Lizzie would end up.

“Maybe she’d move to New York for a while […] I can imagine her being on a path to something really special and great, but I feel like she’d still be working her way through the office grind and she’d probably constantly embarass herself, mishaps in the office all the time. And she’d probably still be wearing butterfly clips, bringing it back!,” Duff joked.

Duff also talked about her transcending from Disney star to teen idol when she broke into pop music with her 2003 album, “Metamorphosis,” because Duff busted the barrier way before the Hannah Montana-Miley Cyrus circus we are all living through now.

She admitted that her favorite song from those days would probably be “Come Clean” which ended up being the theme song for the MTV reality show, Laguna Beach.

“I mean, my voice, I feel like I sound like such a baby, but it’s just a pretty solid song. It’s a good song that has withstood years and years of music changing and all that.”
