Julianne Hough is stepping into a new role on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars: judge. But what does that mean for her brother?
Julianne will now be in charge of judging her brother Derek’s performances on the show, which premieres its new season tonight at 8/7c on ABC. Will she be tough on him, or cut him a little slack?
“I think I view Derek more as a friend even more than a brother,” she told E! News. “Just the way that we were raised, we went to England when we were ten, and so we were more like teammates rather than like bickering brother and sister.”
“They’re all my friends that I’ve known since I was 10 years old,” she said of the other dancers on Dancing With the Stars, “so for me, going on the show and judging my brother is just like judging anyone else.”
Cheryl Burke warned Julianna in a recent interview that she shouldn’t play favorites when it comes to judging Derek. “I know where you live,” Cheryl said.
