Love was in the air on Wednesday night’s episode of The Masked Singer, and the first group of disguised celebrities got narrowed down to just three contestants who will be competing in the finals later this season.

The Valentine’s Day-themed episode began with a group number by the four remaining competitors – Kangaroo, Miss Monster, Turtle, and White Tiger – singing “Rock and Roll All Night” by Kiss. After the group performance, each singer gave the judges a clue package that featured hints from the celebrity’s loved ones before they took the stage to perform a solo act. After the four contestant’s four solo performances, each of the disguised singers gave one of the panelists a Valentine that offered an additional clue.
Judges Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and guest judge Leah Remini made their best guesses. At the end of the episode, the panelists and audience voted on their favorite performance. The contestant who received the lowest number of votes would have to pack their bags and leave.
Even though the celebrity behind Miss Monster was presumed to be a legendary singer, she earned the least amount of love on the Valentine’s Day-themed episode and had to take off her mask. Just before host Nick Cannon helped Miss Monster take off her mask, Thicke and Scherzinger guessed that the “Ain’t Nobody” singer Chaka Khan was the voice behind Miss Monster – and they were spot on!
“I’ve just got to say, I have studied your voice so much. I’m so deeply inspired by you,” Scherzinger told Khan.
The 10-time Grammy winner joins Lil Wayne (Robot) and Drew Carey (Llama) in season 3’s eliminated contestant pool, meaning Kangaroo, Turtle and White Tiger will be a part of the Super 9 with the top three singers from Groups B and C.
