The Masked Singer just said goodbye to another contestant on season 3.
The singing talent show series returned to its regular Wednesday timeslot after kicking off earlier on Sunday, February 2, post-Super Bowl. In this week’s episode of The Masked Singer, judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger were joined by American Pie star Jason Biggs as a guest panelist. And your favorite emcee Nick Cannon was there as well.
At the beginning of The Masked Singer episode two, viewers saw Llama perform first, singing “It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones. Llama was then followed by MissMonster (“Fancy” by Bobbie Gentry), White Tiger (“Good Vibrations” by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch), Kangaroo (“You Know I’m No Good” by Amy Winehouse), and Turtle (“Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur).
Miss Monster, Kangaroo, and Turtle all brought their A-game to the stage, while White Tiger’s energy was contagious. After all the performances, the audience and panelists voted on their favorite performances of the night, which left Llama with the least amount of votes.
The competitor under Llama’s mask was revealed to be comedian Drew Carey, who’s known for hosting The Price Is Right and Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and even had his own self-titled sitcom which ran from 1995 to 2004.
After Carey was unmasked, he put on his signature thick, black frames. “I like having a goof and a lot of laughs,” the comedian explained about why he chose to go on The Masked Singer.
Carey wasn’t upset about coming in last in the show’s second episode of its third season, he told Entertainment Weekly he did it for the fun and not for the prize. “It’s like if you were doing karaoke at an office party and they gave you a little joke trophy that you could put in your cubicle,” he said. “That’s how I treated it. There’s no way you can take this show seriously as a singing talent show.”
So far, only Llama (Carey) and the Robot (unveiled to be rapper Lil Wayne) have been eliminated from the show.
The Masked Singer airs every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
