Kourtney Kardashian is very close to her kids. Maybe even a little too close.
The 34 year-old mom of two shared her feelings on attachment parenting in the new April issue of Redbook magazine, admitting that she lets her son Mason (4) and her daughter Penelope (19 months) sleep in the same bed with her and boyfriend Scott Disick.
“It’s what came naturally to me; I didn’t plan it,” she explained. “When I had Mason, I just felt really attached to him and wanted to bring him everywhere. He ended up sleeping with me, and I breastfed for 14 months.”
Since her kids end up moving from their own beds to her bed “sometimes within minutes,” she says it’s a challenge to find time to be alone with Disick. “It’s…something we talk about constantly,” she said.
Kourtney says she didn’t get these parenting ideas from her own experience as a child. “I have no idea where it came from because I definitely didn’t sleep with my parents unless I was sick or something. I don’t know, it just kind of grew,” she explained. “I wasn’t reading attachment parenting books before; it’s just what came naturally to me. I think even with different kids, it’s different. Each kid needs something different.”
She also acknowledges, “I’m sure all the family thinks I’m insane.”
Do you think Kourtney is a little crazy in her parenting techniques?
