The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram this weekend in honor of their first Mother’s Day celebration with a new photo of baby Archie.
While it is not Mother’s Day in the U.K., it is in the United States and Canada, where Meghan and her family is from, which is still all the reason to still celebrate. The duo shared an adorable photo of the Duchess holding little Archie’s feet in a garden of purple flowers. They captioned the photo, “Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honor and celebrate each and every one of you. Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe. This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex.”
The caption also shared a quote from a poem entitled “lands” by @nayyirah.waheed which read, “my/mother/was/my first country; the first place i ever lived.”
