Just this past weekend Blake Shelton went from celebrity to everyday hero when the country star and Voice coach helped rescue four men from a mudhole near the Washita River in Ardmore, Oklahoma on Friday, Nov. 13.

“Me and my buddies were checking out the river, when some of my buddies [accidentally] slid into a big mud hole and got stuck for about two hours,” one of the men, Bryar Blanton said of the incident. “Me and [my friend] Adrian started walking down the road [looking for help] and Blake and his dog, Betty, stopped and picked us up in his truck.”

Meanwhile, Blanton’s cousin and another friend were still stuck in the mudhole, but luckily Shelton was there to save the day. “Then, we went back to the river and he [Blake} tried to get them out with his truck. He couldn’t do it, so he said he would be back in 15 minutes with his tractor. I was just like, ‘Heck yeah!’ and asked him for a photo with us. He lives about 45 minutes from me,” Blanton continued.

After the ordeal, the group asked for a photo with the star and Tweeted it out, writing, “@blakeshelton just wanna thank you for helping us yesterday man.” Shelton responded with, “No problem..Now you boys stay outta jail!! Ha!!!”
