Sure all of the Kardashians and Jenners get their fair share of headlines, pictures taken in the media and air time on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but 19-year old Kendall Jenner is without a doubt carving her own place in the modeling world.
While KUWTK was her claim to fame before last year, Kendall has made it very clear her fame does not rely on reality TV success anymore, as she is quickly becoming a serious force to be reckoned with in the modeling world.
On Wednesday February 11, Kendall walked the red carpet for the 2015 amfAR Gala at Cipriani Wall Street and did not need any of her famous sisters to turn heads. She looked jaw-droppingly gorgeous in a bold red Romona Keveza gown with one shoulder and a high slit giving the cameras a glimpse at some of her best modeling moves.
Aside from turning heads on the red carpet, Jenner is also gracing the cover of Allure magazine’s March 2015 issue and in between her sexy shoot talked to the mag about coming into her own in her famous family.
“When I started getting in front of the camera a lot, I think my confidence started to come out. It took a minute because I had to believe in myself.”
Of course there is no doubt the gorgeous model just oozes confidence these days, and part of it had to do with doing it herself, away from the fame of her sisters.
“I didn’t need it to be a family affair,” she said of her first Marc Jacobs show. “As selfish as this sounds, I wanted the attention to be on me for five seconds rather than my family. If they were sitting front row, it would have been all about ‘Oh, Kim goes to Kendall’s fashion show!’ I love Kim, but for a minute I wanted it to be like, ‘OK, this is [Kendall’s] thing — she’s taking it seriously.'”
Safe to say Kendall has proven just that and now it is up to her sister’s to keep up with the rising fame of one of their youngest sisters.
