2019 ACM Awards: Best & Worst Dressed Stars Ranked
The Academy of Country Music Awards, better known as the ACM Awards, took place last night and some of country music’s biggest and brightest stars hit the red carpet to celebrate a night of entertainment and music. The country music genre always has the most unpredictable red carpet with quite the array of outfits, so follow along as we recap all the absolute best and worst looks for the 2019 season:
17. Best — Cassie Randolph
Bachelor couple Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph strutted together down the red carpet at the ACM awards this year. After a tumultuous ending to Colton’s season, we’re happy to see that he found his match in Cassie and that the duo seem happier than ever! For the occasion, Cassie opted for a black dress with textured silver paneling that was totally glamorous.
16. Worst — Brandi Carlile
Country singer Brandi Carlile stepped out at this year’s ACM awards wearing a black satin blouse that she layered with a velvet floral embellished blazer. A blazer like this has been done so many times on country music red carpets that it felt a little exhausted, and the entire look seemed a little tacky rather than trendy.
15. Best — Lady Antebellum
It’s tough to coordinate on the red carpet when you’re a band, but Lady Antebellum has proved to have mastered the art. For the 2019 ACM awards, Hillary Scott donned a striped pink dress which was expertly styled to pick up on the baby pink suit worn by Charles Kelly and the charcoal suit worn by Dave Haywood.
14. Worst — Chrissy Metz
This is Us star Chrissy Metz delivered a powerhouse performance on stage to show off her vocal abilities at this year’s ACM awards! While we were wowed with her angelic voice, we can’t say the same for her outfit of choice for the evening. The sequin number felt a little too flashy for our liking. We much prefer glitter and sparkle incorporated into a dress in a subtle way.
13. Best — Jessie James Decker
Jessie James Decker was a total bombshell at this year’s ACM awards where she stepped out wearing a nude belted mini dress with red speckled embellishment throughout. Typically we don’t love a minidress on the red carpet, but Jessie James proved us otherwise! This look was glam, sultry and totally eye-catching.
12. Worst — Cam
Country singer Cam stepped onto the ACM red carpet this year wearing a button-up blouse paired with trousers. We actually don’t mind when stars step out wearing pants over a dress, but this look simply missed the mark. We can’t get over the strange floral crop top that she layered on top!
11. Best — Carly Pearce
Carly Pearce looked totally gorgeous at this year’s ACM awards where she stepped out wearing a red scarlet dress with a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit. We love the gold bead detailing of this dress which picked up beautifully on her gladiator-style gold sandals.
10. Worst — Cassadee Pope
Cassadee Pope had an unfortunate fashion miss at this year’s ACM awards where she stepped out wearing a white backless dress. Our main concern with this look was the oversized bow detail on the hip, which really detracted from the dress and felt out of place.
9. Best — Danielle Bradbery
Danielle Bradbery made heads turn at the ACM awards this year where she stepped out in this deep teal gown with a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit. The look was simple in shape, but the color worked beautifully to complement Bradbery’s blonde hair and fair complexion.
8. Worst — Tanya Tucker
Tanya Tucker wore quite the ensemble for this year’s ACM awards, but we have to admit, we weren’t the biggest fans! Her pink tresses seemed to clash with the blue and green tones of her sequin top and the fringe detail on the sleeves of her jacket felt like they didn’t match with the rest of the look.
7. Best — Lauren Bushnell
Former Bachelor contestant Lauren Bushnell stepped out at the 2019 ACM awards with country singer boyfriend Chris Lane! For the occasion, she wore a lovely coral dress which showed the perfect amount of leg without being over the top. We also love the flattering pleating of this dress which cinched in at the waist and showed off her slender frame.
6. Worst — Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson stepped out at this year’s ACM awards wearing a strange black ensemble. Typically we love lace and structured shoulders, but these two trends combined together on one dress felt a little overwhelming.
5. Best — Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood is always one of the best-dressed women when it comes to country award shows and she didn’t let us down with her look for the ACMs! The singer donned a sparkling charcoal one-shoulder number which featured two dramatic slits on both legs.
4. Worst — Kacey Musgraves
Kacey Musgraves is quite unpredictable when it comes to red carpet fashion, but we have to admit, we weren’t huge fans of this look she wore to the 2019 ACM awards. The ombre suit look seemed to overwhelm her figure and wasn’t the most flattering.
3. Best — Miranda Lambert
Miranda Lambert made heads turn in this neon green dress that she wore to the ACM awards this year. Neon has been a huge trend in 2019, and Lambert styled the trend for the red carpet flawlessly. Since the color of this dress is so bold, we love that she kept it simple with the shape and neckline.
2. Worst — Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman definitely wore one of the most bizarre looks of the evening at the 2019 ACM awards. Her look consisted of lace, sparkle and oversized sleeves, which combined altogether seemed like quite the eyesore.
1. Best — Maddie and Tae
Country singing duo Maddie and Tae looked absolutely adorable on the ACM red carpet this year where they coordinated to perfection. Maddie donned a perfectly tailored gold pantsuit which she paired with red accessories. Maddie’s gold look and red accessories picked up beautifully on the long-sleeved rainbow minidress worn by Tae.
