Adele Dazeem is back.
Kendall Jenner was supposed to introduce the band 5 Seconds of Summer at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, but had trouble reading the teleprompter. Maybe she simply had another numbered band on the brain, since she started to say “One..” (as in One Direction), and then realized something that wasn’t quite right.
“Guys, I’m the worst reader,” the 18 year-old model said in embarrassment, before giggling and seemingly hoping that producers would simply cut away from her. She didn’t even try to make up a band name, the way John Travolta butchered Idina Menzel’s name at the Oscars. Take a look at the video to see how Kendall
Kendall was once romantically linked to One Direction’s Harry Styles — maybe that has something to do with her flub?
Fans weren’t too impressed by Kendall’s onstage mishap. On Twitter, the hashtag #kendallyouhadonejob became popular.
So — what happened? Did the teleprompter have the wrong band name in it? Was the text not moving as it should have been? Or did Kendall have trouble reading it?
Kendall acknowledged her mistake on Twitter, saying that she was nervous and tried to read the prompter without her contacts. “Anndddd as if I wasn’t nervous already!!!!,” she tweeted. “#NeverLeavinMyContactsAtHomeAgain! #LOL #LessonLearned.”
Anyone would be nervous to be on live TV — and she’s only 18! So maybe we should give her a break.
