With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s May 19th wedding fast approaching, the soon-to-be married pair are dealing with much more drama than they bargained for.
After a lot of back-and-forth with Meghan’s father Thomas Markle about whether or not he would be attending the wedding and walking his daughter down the aisle, Thomas finally confirmed to TMZ he would not be attending because he had to undergo heart surgery after suffering a heart attack last week.
He had previously said he would not be attending after he admitted he had staged photos with the paparazzi at the urging of his daughter, and Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha. Fans of Meghan and Prince Harry are well aware that Samantha Markle has been speaking to the media a lot of about her half-sister despite the fact they haven’t spoken or had a relationship in years, and now Samantha is telling TMZ she doesn’t care if Meghan wants her talking to the media or not.
TMZ pointed out to Samantha that Meghan and the Royal family have issued statements asking for privacy surrounding Meghan’s family and have made it clear they don’t want people talking to the media, however Samantha made it clear she won’t be censored. “If it’s about my life or my father’s, there’s something in this country known as freedom of speech. She doesn’t have a copyright on that, she’s not gonna tell me that I can’t speak about my own life or my father’s where it is a matter of public self defense because the media is disparaging us.”
She continued to slam Meghan’s want for privacy heading into her wedding day, saying, “I’m not gonna take it. She’s not qualified to suggest that I don’t under any law in this country. So, this is not Great Britain, I am a United States citizen and that’s all there is to it. She’s way out of her league to tell me I can’t speak.”
Samantha went on to acknowledge that she and Meghan don’t have a relationship but suggested it has been strained further over the past year because of the media. She also added, “Meg doesn’t have a relationship that I’ve seen with anyone in the family.”
Regardless of the issues, she did say she got Prince Harry and Meghan a gift but wouldn’t say what it is as to not ruin the surprise.
