The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out last night for one of her most Princess-like moments of the year!

She helped the Queen host the pre-Christmas party for diplomats at Buckingham Palace. The event happens annually each December and it’s always exciting to see what formal look Kate will wear.

This year, the Duchess opted for a navy velvet gown with long sleeves designed by Alexander McQueen, who also designed her wedding dress. The look featured a flattering v-cut neckline and a slight off-the-shoulder shape. She accessorized with her go-to tiara, the Lover’s Knot tiara, which has become a favorite of hers throughout the years and was also a favorite of the late Princess Diana.

Kate wore her hair in an elegant updo which perfectly showed of all her sparkling jewelry. Aside from the tiara, she also wore statement earrings and the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace which she previously wore in February 2014. The royal mom also wore a sash and medals signifying honors bestowed to her by the Queen.
