John Stamos may be one of TV’s most popular actors — and has been for decades — but he has never been very open about his personal life.
Now, the handsome 54-year-old has shared with fans that he and his girlfriend of nearly two years are engaged! Stamos proposed to 31-year-old Caitlin McHugh at Disneyland with the actor taking to his social media to make the big announcement. He shared a magical drawing of the pair in front of the castle along with the caption, “I asked…she said yes!… And we lived happily ever after.”
The notoriously private actor first revealed he was a taken man back in March 2016 during an appearance on The View where he stated, “This girl I’m dating… she loves the song, ‘Disney Girls.’ So I put on FaceTime… I thought I could get away with [it] but people were tweeting, ‘Who are you FaceTiming?!'”
Since then, Stamos has gushed about his love for McHugh, and the actress talked about working together on their short film Ingenueish which Stamos directed and McHugh starred. “They say if you can do a film together, you can do anything together. I’m very happy to say we survived the filming process and we’re in editing now. We’re both still alive so it’s great!” she joked.
Only a few days ago, Stamos hinted that he may be ready for marriage again during an interview on On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday, October 18. Seacrest joked about whether he or Stamos would be the first to get married to their respective girlfriends, and the Fuller House actor happily responded, “I’m dating and I’m very much in love.”
