Jeopardy! has announced that they are set to resume production three weeks following Alex Trebek’s tragic passing.

On Monday, the popular game show announced that it will begin filming again on Monday, November 30th. They explained that Jeopardy! champ Ken Jennings will take on the role as a guest host for the first few episodes. The show plans on having other members of the Jeopardy! family also host the show in the future.

“We will resume production on 11/30 with a series of interim guest hosts from the Jeopardy! family – starting with Ken Jennings. Additional guest hosts to be announced,” the show tweeted.

After the official announcement from Jeopardy!, Ken Jennings shared an announcement of his own explaining how honored he is to take on the position. “There will only ever be one Alex Trebek, but I’m honored to be helping Jeopardy! out with this in January,” he shared on Twitter.

To honor Trebek and his life, Jeopardy! also announced that they “will air 10 of his best episodes” the weeks of December 21 and December 28 and will “air his final week of episodes” beginning January 4.

Executive Producer Mike Richards also commented about continuing on with Jeopardy! and how important it was to Trebek. He shared, “Alex believed in the importance of Jeopardy! and always said that he wanted the show to go on after him. We will honor Alex’s legacy by continuing to produce the game he loved with smart contestants and challenging clues. By bringing in familiar guest hosts for the foreseeable future, our goal is to create a sense of community and continuity for our viewers.”
