If fans are hoping that James Scott will reprise his role as E.J. DiMera on Days of Our Lives, they shouldn’t get their hopes up.
A fan recently asked him on a post on his Instagram account for The Whisper Within about possibly returning to the sudser, and he revealed that he will never return to Hollywood or Days.
“Hi – thank you for joining me here, please know that I will never. Never. Never. Never. Never. Go back to Hollywood let alone DOOL. There is nothing interesting there for me,” he responded.
Scott joined the cast of Days back in 2006 and left the soap in 2014 to pursue other endeavors. On his website for The Whisper Within, he described the challenges that came with having success in Hollywood: “I had worked tirelessly for the better part of two decades to attain wealth and validation, yet no external thing could touch the emptiness I felt and the worthlessness I experienced.”
The actor faced this “despair and depression” by going to an Indian meditation center. He was only supposed to stay a week and then found himself there for a year. Now he wants to inspire other people to find the same peace he has found.
What does this mean for the E.J. DiMera character? Days will probably need to do a recast!
