Two of the Halliwell sisters are going to be reunited at Grey Sloan Memorial!
On Monday, September 16, ABC announced that it was having a special “Cast from the Past” week, during which cast members and creative teams from former series would be reuniting on some of ABC’s current hit shows, including of course Grey’s Anatomy.
For the October 10 episode of Grey’s Anatomy, former Charmed stars Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs will guest star as sisters of a hospital patient who’s brain dead after falling into a construction site. Together, they have to decide whether to keep their third sister alive. Before Charmed fans get too excited however, the injured sister is not played by Shannen Doherty or Rose McGowan.
Charmed originally ran for eight seasons from October 7, 2008 to May 21, 2006. It first starred Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, and Shannen Doherty as Phoebe, Piper and Prue Halliwell who discover they are witches and tasked with protecting the mortal world. Following Doherty’s exit after season three as eldest sister Prue, Rose McGowan joined the series as their half-sister Paige Matthews for the remainder of the series.
While the Grey’s Anatomy episode will be a reunion for Milano and Combs on screen, it will also reunited the two actresses with Grey’s executive producers Krista Vernoff and Andy Reaser who both worked as writers on Charmed.
Following the the Charmed reunion on Grey’s Anatomy, ABC is reuniting Cheers stars Kirstie Alley, Rhea Perlman, John Ratzenberger and George Wendt for the October 9 episode of The Goldbergs.
On Oct. 11, Drew Carey, Ryan Stiles and Kathy Kinney will join their former Drew Carey Show co-star Diedrich Bader on American Housewife.
On Sunday October 13, the fun continues with Nathan Fillion’s former Castle costars Seamus Deaver and Jon Huertas joining him on The Rookie. In the episode called “The Bet” Officer Nolan navigates building tension in his relationship with Jessica and a developing rapport with Grace while working a high-stakes criminal case involving an undercover homeland security agent. Meanwhile, Officer Chen meddles with Officer Bradford’s love life, and Officer Lopez learns some surprising news about Wesley.
