71-year old actress Glenn Close, who is nominated for best actress in a leading role for her work in “The Wife,” walked the 2019 Oscars red carpet in a stunning gown that weighs a shocking 42 pounds!
Her menswear-inspired look was designed by Wes Gordon of Caroline Herrera. According to the fashion house, the golden dress is custom made and hand-embroidered. It features a full-length cape and was crafted with an impressive count of four million glass bugle beads applied to an inner gown corset. The regal golden look is the epitome of elegance but also featured some functionality detailing, like the fact that it has pockets. Close complemented her look with simple diamond-and-gold earrings and matching metallic clutch.
