Duchess Kate Gives Nod To Princess Diana By Wearing Her Crown

As the Duchess of Cambridge, one would assume that Kate Middleton most definitely has access to an ample selection of crowns, but it seems she always returns to a beloved favorite — The Cambridge Lover’s Knot crown.

She recently stepped out for a state banquet alongside Prince William and Queen Elizabeth II wearing a Cinderella powder blue gown that was straight from a fairytale. The designer of the beautiful number was, of course, Alexander McQueen, the same designer as her wedding dress and many other winning Royal fashion moments.

She topped the look off with her beloved Cambridge Lover’s Knot crown which was also one of the late Princess Diana’s favorite pieces. Diana was gifted the crown by Queen Elizabeth as a wedding gift and the piece quickly became her signature, alongside the Collingwood pearl drop earrings, which Kate also wore on this occasion. While Kate doesn’t often wear crowns, when she does it’s definitely quite likely she’ll opt for a Princess Diana favorite.
