Season 13 of The Bachelorette hasn’t even premiered yet and the Bachelorette herself already has a huge spoiler: she’s engaged!
During a press call on Thursday, May 18 Lindsay confirmed that she is happily engaged to one of the contestants who viewers will meet on the upcoming premiere on Monday, May 22. The 31-year-old joyfully announced, “I am very much so in love and very much so engaged. I am getting my happy ending!”
Lindsay, who placed third on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor, was named Bachelorette while she was still competing, but was honored to get the role. “I’m happy to represent myself as a black woman in front of America and I’m happy for America to rally behind me and see what it’s like for me to be on this journey to find love.”
Last week, all of Lindsay’s 31 suitors were named and there are a wide variation of men, ages, and occupations from personal trainers to a “whaboom” guy who says whaboom is a way of life and host Chris Harrison says is a guy people will either love, love to hate, or just completely hate.
While Lindsay can’t divulge who she picked, it is clear that she is exceptionally happy. “Every morning I wake up and pinch myself and I keep asking myself if this really happening. It’s crazy at times. I feel like I don’t even deserve this. I feel like I’m getting everything that I want and I am getting my happy ending.”
