On Sunday Feb. 28, the biggest stars in the entertainment industry came together for the biggest awards night, the 88th Annual Academy Awards. Although the night is all about who takes home which awards, many give as much attention to the red carpet arrivals where fashion winners and losers are just as important. As is with every awards show, there were some risk-takers, some who chose classy, simple looks and others who went a little edgy. There were quite a few gorgeous gowns on the red carpet, but a few of them were real head-turners. Here are the six best dressed stars from this year’s Oscars.

6. Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts once again hit the mark with her Oscars red carpet style, donning a colorful Armani Prive strapless gown. Sometimes, shimmer and color can go wrong, but Watts pulled it off perfectly with the Swarovski crystals embellished stripes, drawing the eye and showing off her fantastic figure. She let the dress do the talking with classic yet simple hair and makeup, and accessorized with a bit more sparkle with her diamond collar necklace and crystal-embellished clutch.

5. Jennifer Garner

Revenge body? Sure seems so! Jennifer Garner has always looked great, but it really seemed she was letting everyone know Ben what he was missing with her stunning red carpet look. The Miracles from Heaven star looked amazing in a one-shoulder Atelier Versarce black gown. Often, black dresses are the best way to go, but she added some excitement with the black beading and ruffled detail, pulled in at the waist. She completed her look with a classic updo, diamond earrings and bracelets and Rene Caovilla platform heels.

4. Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron has always been gorgeous, but it seems it has been quite some time before she landed on the best dressed lists. There is no doubt she was an absolute showstopper at the 2016 Oscars however, donning a jaw-dropping Dior Haute Couture deep red gown with a plunging v-neck. She added a long, silver pendant, adding to the exaggeration of the plunging neckline and added sultry make-up to complete the red-hot look.

3. Saoirse Ronan

It was shocking that Saoirse Ronan didn’t take home any wins for her outstanding performance in Brooklyn, but the actress was a definite winner on the red carpet in this incredible emerald Calvin Klein gown featuring a plunging front and back and a swirling beaded skirt. Along with her dangling earrings, and perfectly tousled hair, Ronan was the perfect mixture of classy yet sexy while turning heads at the big awards show.

2. Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra is quickly becoming one of the most buzzed about new actresses and for good reason — she is stunning and knows how to dress her incredible figure. The Quantico actress made jaws drop in a strapless, sheer and white embellished Zuhair Murad dress. The gown accented her waist with a delicate sparkling belt. It also helps that she accessorized with $3.2 million worth of Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

1. Alicia Vikander

Alicia Vikander is making waves in the industry, and not just for her incredible talent, but also her outstanding fashion sense. The beautiful Swedish actress won for her work in The Danish Girl, but she was also one of the most talked about on the red carpet with her pale yellow Louis Vuitton gown with silver embellishments. Reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast‘s Belle, she added to the look with stunning silver earrings and silver shoes, absolutely nailing Oscars fashion.
