The MTV Movie & TV awards took place this week and attracted everyone from The Hills cast to Melissa McCarthy on the red carpet. The MTV Movie & TV awards are one of the more casual and playful awards shows of the year, which often creates quite a few interesting fashion moments. Sometimes this is for the best, but not always! Follow along as we rank the best and worst looks from this year’s MTV Movie & TV awards:

16. Worst: Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon stepped out at this year’s MTV awards wearing a strange Louis Vuitton ensemble that consisted of a red armor-like top and face mask. This look was a little too experimental and strange for a red carpet in our opinion, even one as casual as the MTV awards!

15. Best: Vanessa Marano

Vanessa Marano stunned on the MTV Movie & TV awards red carpet where she stepped out wearing a long sleeve bronze minidress. We absolutely love all the intricate beading and detail involved with this number, which she complemented flawlessly by pulling her hair up into a sleek high ponytail.

14. Worst: Storm Reid

Storm Reid stepped out looking like she’d been transported directly from the Victorian era for the MTV Movie & TV awards this year. We have to admit we weren’t huge fans of her look which felt outdated and ended up being an unfortunate fashion miss.

13. Best: Ashley Wahler

Ashley Wahler was a total bombshell at this year’s MTV Movie & TV awards where she stepped out wearing a charcoal metallic dress with fringe detailing throughout. We absolutely love the glitz and glamour of this look and how unique the fringe was in comparison to the other red carpet looks at the event.

12. Worst: Kieran Shipka

Kieran Shipka had an unfortunate fashion miss at this year’s MTV Movie & TV awards where she stepped out wearing a mini-length logo Fendi dress. While we love the slim fit of this dress, the strange neon detailing and chunky shoes really detracted from the look.

11. Best: Heidi Montag

Heidi Montag nailed her red carpet look for this year’s MTV Movie & TV awards where she stepped out wearing this navy Gucci jumpsuit. The look flattered her figure in all the right places and was the perfect combination of sophisticated and sultry.

10. Worst: Aubrey Plaza

Aubrey Plaza stepped out at the MTV Movie & TV awards wearing a sequined long-sleeve minidress that we have to admit we didn’t love. The combination of the frilly collar, bow neck tie and sequins didn’t seem to quite flow together in the most flattering way.

9. Best: Audrina Patridge

Audrina Patridge stunned at the MTV Movie & TV awards where she rocked a sleek black dress which featured a halter neckline and thigh-high slit. We love how simple this look was but still brought the red carpet glamour with the metallic detailing on the top of the slit.

8. Worst: Mischa Barton

As happy as we are to see Mischa Barton back on the red carpet, we can’t say we were the biggest fans of her look for this year’s MTV Movie & TV awards! The looked seemed to drown her figure among the excess of tulle and fabric.

7. Best: Tiffany Haddish

Tiffany Haddish glowed at this year’s MTV Movie & TV awards where she stepped out rocking a sleek silver asymmetrical dress. The ruched detailing trailing the front of her body was super figure-flattering and the one-sleeve detail added a unique and interesting detail that we didn’t expect.

6. Worst: Tessa Thompson

Tessa Thompson wore an interesting look for this year’s MTV red carpet which consisted of an oversized blazer in an interesting texture that we felt missed the mark. From the drowning shape of the tuxedo to the strange hairstyle, we’d have to say this look of Tessa Thompson’s was an unfortunate miss.

5. Best: Melissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy looked absolutely gorgeous at this year’s MTV Movie & TV awards where she stepped out wearing a sparkling black dress. This look was simple, yet glitzy and fit her like a glove, which is the perfect combination for a classy red carpet win.

4. Worst: Jada Pinkett Smith

Jada Pinkett Smith stepped out on the MTV red carpet wearing a silver sequined suit this year. While this look definitely fit her well and flattered her curves, we have to admit the full sequined look felt a little much. We would have much preferred some subtle sequin detailing rather than a full-blown suit.

3. Best: Cassie Randolph

Cassie Randolph looked totally glam at this year’s MTV Movie & TV awards where she stepped out wearing a white crop top and dove grey trousers. The look was perfect for a casual awards show like the MTV awards and was the ideal balance of sexy by showing a little skin, but sophisticated with the tailored trouser and blazer.

2. Worst: Elisabeth Moss

Elisabeth Moss stepped out on the MTV Awards red carpet wearing a velvet black minidress with one glaring detail: a dramatic snake trailing down the front. While we are huge fans of snakeskin detailing, we’re not sure how we feel about a full-blown snake on a red carpet dress!

1. Best: Lana Condor

Lana Condor stole the show at this year’s MTV Movie & TV awards where she stepped out wearing a gorgeous floral mini dress. Oversized puff sleeves are a huge trend this season, so we love to see how Condor incorporated the trend into her red carpet look.
