ACM Awards 2018: 12 Worst Dressed Stars

The biggest and brightest stars of the country music industry descended upon the red carpet last night for the annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Often country music award shows see some pretty outrageous fashion moments and this year was no different. From bedazzled suit jackets to foofy layering, follow along for 12 of the most unfortunately dressed stars of the 2018 ACM Awards red carpet:

12. Jennifer Nettles

Lead vocalist of Sugarland Jennifer Nettles stepped out wearing head to toe velvet for the ACM red carpet. As much as we appreciate a strong velvet dress, especially during the winter season, the look seemed somewhat misplaced with spring just around the corner. We would have much preferred to see Nettles in something light and flowy rather than this heavy and seemingly constricting high-neck look.

11. Hillary Scott

Lady Antebellum singer Hillary Scott stepped out wearing this floral ruffled number for the 2018 ACM red carpet. We can appreciate a gown with feminine touches, but this foofy design seemed a little too saccharine. Scott’s figure got lost in all the ruffles and the alternating patterns made for an outfit that detracted from her beauty rather than complementing it.

10. Lindsay Ell

There is definitely an appropriate and sultry way to rock cutouts on the red carpet, but unfortunately, we weren’t totally convinced by Lindsay Ell’s version of this trend. The gown was quite chaotic with the geometric design, sparkling embellishment and cutouts along the midriff and neckline. We would have much preferred to see Ell in something a little more simplistic, especially if she was considering a look with major cutouts.

9. Brothers Osborne

Brothers Osborne have quite the reputation for bold and downright questionable red carpet looks, and this year they lived up to our expectations. John Osborne stepped out wearing a black blazer bedazzled with blue detailing along the shoulders while his brother T.J. Osborne rocked a lilac floral blazer. Despite this obvious fashion mishap, the two seemed in good spirits, especially with all their awards in hand.

8. Eve

Eve stepped out wearing quite an interesting look at the ACM Awards red carpet last night! Although we actually really love this soft pink color on Eve’s skin tone, the dress itself was an unfortunate miss. The sleek pink gown featured strange chiffon ruffling along the neckline that totally detracted from the otherwise quite elegant fashion moment.

7. Florida Georgia Line

Florida Georgia Line singers Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard stepped out wearing unique suits on last night’s ACM red carpet. While Kelley opted for a longline plaid blazer jacket, Hubbard wore a black pinstripe suit with a belt that tied around his waist. Both suits strayed from the conventional tuxedo look. which we can appreciate; however, they seemed to clash beside each other and looked overall quite awkward.

6. Becky Lynch

Professional wrestler Becky Lynch surprisingly made an appearance on the ACM red carpet this year, but unfortunately, her outfit was quite the miss. We absolutely love the idea of a two-piece set on the red carpet instead of a conventional dress, but Lynch’s take on the trend was far too casual for the red carpet. The striped outfit appeared to be made of a linen material, which is much better suited for a casual summer day than a formal gala.

5. Nicole Kidman

Recently Nicole Kidman has been quite hit or miss when it comes to red carpet fashion, but unfortunately, we weren’t that impressed with her look for this year’s ACM awards. The gold color was quite complimentary with her blonde locks; however, the combination of sparkles and the balloon sleeves didn’t quite seem to work.

4. Jon Pardi

Jon Pardi wore one of the most standout blazers on last night’s ACM red carpet, but that doesn’t necessarily make it a best-dressed moment. The white blazer featured rhinestones, roses, an American flag, a Las Vegas sign and an acoustic guitar among other tacky country-related designs.

3. Lindsey Vonn

Lindsey Vonn definitely stood out on the 2018 ACM red carpet, but this wasn’t necessarily for the better! Yellow is a huge trend this season, but regrettably, this look was quite the overkill of the color. We would have much preferred to see Vonn trying out this trend with something a little sleeker and sophisticated rather than this foofy tulle skirt.

2. Midland

Midland almost always steps out in jaw-dropping attire when it comes to red carpet appearances, but unfortunately, this isn’t necessarily for the better. The crew rocked chest-baring printed button-ups with bedazzled suits and wide-brimmed cowboy hats. Their look was a quintessential example of overbearing country red carpet fashion but we definitely appreciate the group’s ability to stand out.

1. Bebe Rexha

Of all the looks that graced the ACM red carpet this year, we have to admit that Bebe Rexha’s was one of the most questionable. Bebe Rexha is typically quite out-of-the-box with her fashion, but this look was overall quite confusing and unflattering. The sleek black gown featured a strange sheer neckline that totally detracted from what could have been a seriously glamorous little-black-dress fashion moment.
