The big budget event was designed by Preston Bailey and featured a whopping guestlist of 500 attendees who gathered at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey to watch the power couple wed. The straight-out-of-a-fairytale wedding was complete with a 13-layer tiered cake, a 5,000-square-foot ballroom and, of course, a seriously swoon-worthy wedding gown! 12. Inspired by Grace Kelly

Ivanka took inspiration from the world’s most influential fashion icons when determining the details she wanted in her dream wedding dress! Trump decided to opt for something quite similar to Grace Kelly’s royal wedding look to marry Prince Rainer II in 1956. Ivanka hoped to incorporate Kelly’s signature elegant lace detailing and floating sleeves into her own bridal attire.

Ivanka’s wedding look was made possible by wedding dress designer and bridal expert, Vera Wang! The iconic wedding dress designer is one of the most renowned and buzzed about designers in the industry so it comes as no surprise that Ivanka opted to work with Wang to bring her fairytale wedding dress dreams to life.

10. The style is called the “Esther”

If you’re looking for the exact dress Ivanka wore on the big day, sources have dished that a similar Vera Wang style is called the “Esther.” The style can be found under the Vera Wang “Iconic” collection and is available in ivory or white with an ivory or white horsehair bow. Although it’s not known if this is the exact dress Ivanka wore on the big day, the similarities are difficult to overlook!

9. Featured layers of Chantilly lace

Ivanka Trump has established herself to be quite elegant and simple when it comes to style and her wedding dress followed suit. The A-line bridal look featured an illusion sweetheart neckline, multi-layered Chantilly lace applique and elbow-length sleeves crafted with floating lace. The dress also comes with a horsehair sash which ties into a bow at the waist, but from the looks of the photos, it seems that Ivanka passed on this option and went the simple route.

Being raised in a billionaire empire means that Ivanka is no newbie when it comes to expensive diamonds! For the big day, the fashion designer took from her own collection –Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry — and donned a whopping $220,000 worth of diamonds. Her jewelry included platinum mixed-cut clustered diamond earrings, an Art Deco link platinum-diamond bracelet, and a diamond hairpiece to hold up her veil.

Vera Wang dished some of the details of what it was like to work with Ivanka and the vision she had for the gown shortly after the ceremony. Vera Wang spoke to the New York Times and revealed that Ivanka actually really wanted her dress to be as modest and classy as possible. “She was actually very much about being covered and I seized on the chance to do a dress that wasn’t naked and very Hollywood,” Wang shared.

6. The gown weighed 50 pounds

Although Ivanka’s gown appeared light and whimsical with it’s floating lace and soft layers, many will be surprised to learn that the dress actually weighed a whopping 50 pounds! The layers of Chantilly and Lyon lace definitely add up, especially with the slight train that the dress featured cascading behind her.

Although Ivanka took the simple and elegant route when it came to her dress, it’s clear she didn’t skimp when it came to her bridal jewelry! She wore a total worth of $220,000 worth of diamonds, but the earrings alone were $130,000. The pair she opted for was platinum mixed-cut clustered diamond earrings.

Unlike her stepmother Melania Trump, Ivanka opted for a dress that was quite traditional and reminiscent of many of the classic royal figures’ bridal looks. Her dress was romantic yet still sophisticated, which rings true to Ivanka’s personal style in her everyday life as well. “I would say I am a traditional/classic bride,” she told Brides.com prior to the wedding. “This style is translated in my dress and jewelry choice.”

Ivanka took the traditional route and opted for a whimsical veil on the big day of her wedding! She wore her hair down in loose curls that fell along her shoulders and accessorized with a diamond hairpiece that held the veil in place. The platinum, mixed-cut diamond piece was selected from her personal jewelry collection and is alone worth $45,000.

2. Required 28 seamstresses to make

According to Brides.com, the opulent Vera Wang dress which weighed in at 50 pounds required 28 seamstresses to make! They worked around the clock to ensure the dress was pristine and perfect for Ivanka’s big day and focussed three months of their time dedicated to this process.

When asked what she prioritized as most important when selecting a wedding gown, Ivanka told Brides.com that comfort was key. “I plan to dance all night!” she explained to justify her decision.
