Stars Who Fell In Love With Their On-Set Siblings

As we all know, celebrities who star in movies or television shows together have a much greater chance of hooking up off-screen. It doesn’t matter whether they play love interests or relatives, working in close quarters makes a relationship more likely. To prove our point, we have a list of 13 on-screen siblings who became real-life couples:

12. Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter — Dexter

Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are probably one of the more famous examples of a couple who played siblings on-screen and then fell in love off-screen. Hall met Carpenter when she played his adoptive sister on the Showtime hit Dexter and they eloped in 2008. Two years later, they announced that they had been separated for some time and had filed for divorce. The show, however, stayed on the air for another couple of years.

11. Matthew Broderick and Jennifer Grey — Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Matthew Broderick and Jennifer Grey played brother and sister in the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Although their characters did not get along at all in the movie, off-screen these two had started dating. A year and a half into their relationship, they were in a head-on collision in Ireland, which was caused by Broderick driving in the wrong lane, that left the two people in the other car dead. After the accident, Grey ended her relationship with the Ferris Bueller star and turned her back on Hollywood for over two decades.

10. Ian Somerhalder and Maggie Grace — Lost

On Lost, Ian Somerhalder and Maggie Grace played step-siblings, who were a little too close for comfort. Somerhalder and Grace began dating after they were both written off the show; however, it only lasted for about a year.

9. Amy Poehler and Will Arnett — Blades of Glory

Amy Poehler and Will Arnett were already married when they played husband and wife on Arrested Development. In the movie 2007 movie Blades of Glory, the husband and wife played a brother and sister skating duo. The marriage didn’t last though. In 2012, they called it quits.

8. Maureen McCormick and Barry Williams — The Brady Bunch

Maureen McCormick and Barry Williams were not necessarily in a relationship when they played step-siblings on The Brady Bunch, but they did engage in a few make-out sessions. In her memoir, Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice, McCormick revealed that she had wanted to lose her virginity to her on-screen step-sibling, but his parents busted in on them, spoiling the moment.

7. Emily VanCamp and Dave Annable – Brothers & Sisters

Emily VanCamp and Dave Annable’s relationship on Brothers & Sisters was kind of complicated. Initially, they were half-siblings, but later it was revealed that they weren’t related at all, so their characters ran off together and eloped during season four of the show. It was decided that the two would become a couple on the show because on-set they had a lot of chemistry. Off-screen, VanCamp and Annable briefly dated, but then kept things professional after the breakup.
