It may seem like long locks reign Hollywood when it comes to female stars, but the celebrities on this list won’t let the high-pressures of their very public lives prevent them from trying out something that many women dream of but would never dare to attempt — shaving their heads. While it might not suit everyone, some of these ladies look amazing with their nearly-bald and totally bold style and some are just so gorgeous that they could wear their hair long, short, or buzzed and still look incredible. Sinead O’Connor may be the old-school classic figure on this list, having rocked the shaved head looks for years. She apparently initially got rid of her locks when she first started to gain success in the business, wanting to be sure that she was being recognized more for her musical talents than for her gorgeous looks. She’s certainly become recognizable, although for both her music and her looks, as well as her wild behaviour which has ranged from ripping up a picture of the Pope on live television (sacrilegious Saturday Night Live, anyone?) to internet rants that caught the attention of the public and the media alike, all worrying about her mental state.
