Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin were the picture perfect couple. Their relationship was a whirlwind romance from the beginning as they started dating in August 2014, were engaged four months later and then wed the following spring in May 2015. Jana Kramer has been having an incredible year so far. The “I Got the Boy” singer welcomed her daughter, Jolie Rae Cuassin, in January, was nominated for an ACM and ACCA award, and recently embarked on tour for her newest album, Thirty One. Unfortunately, it’s only been 15-months into their marriage and the couple is reportedly separated. 7. How They Met
Being a celebrity can sometimes put a strain on the whole dating thing, so more often than not, social media plays a role in sparking new relationships. This was the case with Mike Caussin and Jana Kramer. In an interview with Billboard, Jana said, “We met on Twitter. It’s the new Match.com, I guess.” She told The Boot that it was Mike who initiated the friendship on social media. “He favorited some stuff I tweeted, and we met each other. I did some background things to verify who he was and everything, and we started dating. It’s like Mr. Right came walking by.” Sounds like love at first tweet!

It’s no secret that Jana Kramer has been in a lot of serious relationships. She tends to fall fast and hard. Her relationship with Mike was no different, but what’s important about him is that he doesn’t judge her based on the fact that she’s been married twice and engaged three times prior to meeting him. In an interview with People she opened up about their new relationship and said the relationship just feels natural: “He doesn’t judge me or my past. He is my sounding board. He is my best friend.” She went on to explain that she’s different now that she’s older and in her 30s. She has a better idea of what she’s looking for in life and in a partner: “once I hit my 30’s [and] stopped taking crap and started figuring out who I was and what I wanted. I love to love and sometimes that meant forcing it when it wasn’t right,” she said.

The relationship between Mike and Jana was a whirlwind romance. Mike proposed to Jana after only four months of dating. They started dating in August 2014 and were engaged by December. Jana announced their engagement when she tweeted out: “Had the best birthday I’ve ever had. Thanks for all the LOVE!!!!” Kramer’s excitement stemmed from the fact that Mike had proposed in Nashville, Tennessee after spending all day celebrating her birthday. “It was a beautiful surprise. He was the perfect gentleman. Nervous, on one knee, and surrounded by some of the people that love us the most,” she said in an interview with People magazine.

Their wedding took place beneath the Blue Ridge Mountains at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards, merely 100 miles away from Mike’s hometown of Springfield. It consisted of an enchanting outdoor ceremony decorated with lilac colors, rustic and crafty Pinterest-inspired decor. As Jana’s third wedding, she wasn’t too hot on the idea of hosting another lavish ceremony. She told US Weekly that she wanted it to be simple and private, but it was Michael who wanted to go big. “In the beginning I honestly just wanted to go to the courthouse and do the whole Sarah Jessica Parker, end of the movie kind of thing. But Michael really wanted to have a wedding and once we found the venue I was all in,” she said. Jana was previously engaged to fellow country singer, Brantley Gilbert, and formerly married to fellow actor Michael Gambino, as well as her Prom Night co-star Johnathon Schaech.
3. Baby Gender
They were so excited about finding out the gender of their baby that they did early blood work just to find out! Despite being anxious to find out, Jana and Mike still wanted it to be a surprise, but apparently they are both terrible at keeping surprises. “Michael and I are really bad at keeping surprises. We’ll buy each other things for holidays, then just give them to each other in advance,” she said during an interview with Fit Pregnancy. When it came to finding out the gender of their child, they knew not to trust one another with the secret. “I had my nurse call my best friend Kathryn to give her the news. Then we invited friends and family over, and handed out water guns my friend had filled with paint. No one but she knew whether the paint was pink or blue.” Her and Michael wore white T-shirts and when the paint went flying they found out they were having a baby girl!

Jana and Mike decided to reveal they were expecting in a blog post on the People website. She wrote, “I am currently 15 weeks along and my husband and I were so anxious to find out the sex of our baby that we did the early blood work test at 10 weeks to find out that we are having a baby…GIRL!” The news came only three months after they tied the knot. Jana and Mike both shared their excitement about becoming parents together. “[I’m] like the luckiest girl alive to be on this journey with the love of my life,” while Mike added, “I am so incredibly excited about becoming a father. For me it is just another dream come true and I can not imagine tackling parenthood with anyone else but Jana.” This past winter on Sunday, January 31, Mike and Jana welcomed their baby girl, Jolie Rae Caussin, into the world. Since her birth, Jana has been touring with Jolie by her side.

Recent reports reveal that Jana and Mike have separated after only 15-months of marriage. According to a source for People magazine, they have split as Mike enters a rehabilitation center to receive treatment for “undisclosed reasons.” It’s unclear what he’s receiving treatment for, but Caussin was forced to end his NFL career early after a serious knee injury, hip troubles and a torn ACL. People’s source said, “This has been difficult for Jana but her priority is being there for [seven-month-old daughter] Jolie.” Neither Jana or Mike have released a statement concerning their separation, but multiple sources have confirmed the news is in fact true. Jana is extremely active on social media, but hasn’t posted a photo with Caussin since June; however, he has appeared on her snap chat a few times.
