At one point in time, many moons ago, Days of Our Lives (DOOL) Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker) and Kyle Lowder (former Brady Black) were a real-life soap opera super couple. They met on the set when Lowder slipped into the Black role in 2000 and attended daytime drama events and galas together. They made a pretty fun and interesting couple. While they are now no longer an item, below are seven things you may not know about these soap opera stars and their relationship.

7. Brady & Nicole

Life certainly imitated art when it came to the actors and the characters they played. Brady and Nicole enjoyed a nice little romance during the time Lowder was in Salem from 2000 to 2005. Meanwhile, Ari and Kyle tied the knot in 2002. Brady and Nicole have been good friends over the years and while Black is played by a different actor now (Eric Martsolf), the two DOOL characters have reconnected romantically as of late. It was Kyle and Ari who started the romance (and great chemistry) between Brady and Nicole.

6. Wasn’t Ari’s First DOOL Crush

Interestingly enough, while Kyle and Ari would move on to have an incredible relationship, Kyle wasn’t Ari’s first DOOL crush. In a January 2016 Glamour interview, Zucker revealed she had a minor crush on Jensen Ackles (former Eric Brady) when she first started on Days in 1998. The two never dated (as they were both seeing others at the time); it was a small crush, and two years later Lowder would arrive on set and shift her attention.

5. First-Time Break Up

The couple briefly separated in 2007 for about year and of course the Internet was buzzing with speculation about why the seemingly perfect twosome went their separate ways. One rumor that was going around was the fact that Ari wanted children and Kyle didn’t. The pair would reconnect in the early 2008, shortly after announced the pending arrival of their first child. Isabella Resse Lowder would arrive in late 2009 and the couple was over the moon.

4. 2014 Divorce

While a baby made them a family of three, Lower and Zucker decided to part ways in 2014 and later announced their divorce. Once again, speculation ran wild as to why the seemingly perfect pair parted ways. Turns out, their age difference may have been a factor. In a statement released to Soap Opera Digest, Lowder relayed how Ari told him she loved him, but that he was only 21-years-old and she also wanted him to experience life.

3. Still Friends

Just by Lowder’s comments, one can see that this couple is quite amicable despite their divorce, which can be an anomaly in this day and age. In fact, when they did part ways, they ensured to release a joint statement letting the public know that they wanted their divorce to remain private, but that they were still friends and committed to co-parenting their daughter Isabella together.

2. Enter: Shawn Christian

When the Ari and Kyle broke up in 2014, Zucker would start dating fellow DOOL cast member Shawn Christian (former Daniel Jonas) that year. The couple are still together over three years later and seem to be enjoying a nice relationship. Just taking a look at either of their Instagram handles and you’ll see just how happy and in love the two are. There must be something in Salem’s water — the show seems to be able to bring a lot of loves into Zucker’s life.

1. Jennifer Aniston Connection

Years ago, Nicole Walker had a relationship with Victor Kiriakis, played by actor John Aniston, who also happens to be the father of famous Hollywood actress, Jennifer Aniston. While Ari has never met Jen, in 2003 when ex-hubby Lowder was on Friends playing himself (this was during the storyline where Joey landed a role on Days), Lowder apparently told Jen on set that ‘his wife’ played ‘John’s wife’ on DOOL, where Anniston replied … ‘how old is your wife?’ Apparently, lots of laughs were had over the comment.
