By now Jennifer Aniston is used to making headlines as one of Hollywood’s biggest actresses and as always fans are always fascinated by her love life, especially after a very dramatic and public divorce from Brad Pitt.

In a recent interview with the New York Times however, Aniston discussed a relationship that no fans ever knew about, calling the man, who we now know as Daniel McDonald, her “first love.”

The mention of McDonald came up in reference to Aniston’s current relationship with fiancé Justin Theroux when she stated, “He [McDonald] was my first love — five years we were together. He would have been the one. But I was 25, and I was stupid. He must have sent me Justin to make up for it all.”

Aniston and McDonald were apparently together until 1994 and thirteen years later, long after their relationship, McDonald lost a battle with brain cancer and passed away.

After Aniston made headlines talking about her deceased first love, McDonald’s widow and mother to his children, Mujah Maraini-Melehi took to her Facebook to slam Aniston for getting publicity out of the story when she wasn’t even there for him when he was sick, writing, “I am sorry that Jennifer did not realize the treasure that was Daniel when she had the chance, long before he and I met and long before he died. It pains me to read the headlines that allude to her losing him tragically when she was not present during his long and difficult illness.”

She also states that after McDonald passed away she reached out to Aniston to offer her photographs back that Daniel had from their time together but “never got an answer back from her.”

Mariani-Melehi’s Facebook page has since been removed.
