Last season of Teen Mom OG saw Ryan Edwards go down a dangerous path which resulted in an impromptu wedding to his fiancee Mackenzie Standifer before he headed off to rehab for substance abuse.
Prior to the small and rather rushed wedding, the two were planning their “dream” wedding, and in mid-November that dream came true when they wed for the second time in a big celebration. Mackenzie opened up about the big day to E! News saying, “It was amazing, it was the best day ever. Everything went so smoothly. It could not have gone any better.” She added that the very best part of the day was “seeing Ryan’s face when the door opened.”
Mackenzie added that despite the threat of rain, it held off and everything was “beautiful” at their late afternoon wedding which included Edwards’ son Bentley with his ex Maci Bookout and Mackenzie’s son Hudson with her ex Zachary Stephens.
“They were so cute,” Mackenzie gushed. “Hudson, at the end of the ceremony, mopped up the floor with himself—he was rolling on the ground, just like a typical 3-year-old. And Bentley looked so handsome. He looked just like his dad.”
Most surprising about the whole thing? Maci was there as well! “[She] was there. Everything was fine,” Mackenzie confirmed. “We talked a little bit and she got along with all my bridesmaids.”
She also revealed that despite their first legal wedding, they will be recognizing their November wedding as their actual day. “This just felt like the actual wedding, it just felt like the day,” she continued. “That’s the anniversary that we will be using, in November. It does feel different, it does feel legit. It’s like what I’ve always dreamed of.”
