Since revealing her battle with breast cancer last year, actress Shannen Doherty is ready to open up to fans about her courageous battle, and let them know she is not going through it alone.
The former Charmed and Beverly Hills, 90210 alum posted a new selfie on Instagram of her support system after previously posting a series of pictures showing the emotional process of shaving her head. “Thank you to these three who helped me thru an impossibly tough day and continue to be there every minute supporting and loving me,” the 45-year-old captioned the photo featuring herself, her mother Rosa Elizabeth and her friends Anne Marie Kortright and Chris Cortazzo. Doherty went on to explain that her husband, Kurt Iswarienkio “was in Mexico but knew he left me in good hands,” and she then tagged her friends and stated, “I love you.”
Doherty first revealed her cancer diagnosis in August 2015, a few months after she got the news in March of that year. The first reports claimed she is suing her manager for not properly handling her health insurance plans and not renewing them which caused Doherty to not go to the doctor and catch the diagnosis earlier on in its stages.
While she has remained silent on the lawsuit, she has been flooded with support from family, friends and fans who continue to send her messages of support and well wishes with hashtags such as #CancerSucks and #ShandoArmy.
