Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram to share the importance of CPR training by telling a story about how he saved his nephew’s life.

Reynolds posted a photo of himself after attending a refresher CPR course and shared how the information he gained from this experienced helped him save his nephew in dire circumstances. He captioned the photo, “Years ago, I took a CPR course thru the Red Cross. And holy s—, I ended up saving my nephew’s life because I knew what to do! True story!” He continues, “Yesterday I took a refresher course — focusing on infant and toddler CPR. It takes only a few hours and it’s also kinda, sorta fun. Thank you to Dan from Viva First Aid for the lesson.” He ended with a lighthearted joke stating, “And thank you to these two helpful yet lifeless dolls whose vacant ocular cavities will haunt me until end times.”

Reynolds has two children, a two-year old daughter and a nine-month old daughter. His wife, Blake Lively, shared a similar post encouraging parents to take CPR courses and informing them about how valuable the experience can be. “I can’t recommend this enough, I took a CPR class with a focus on babies and toddlers,” Lively wrote. “For those of you who haven’t done it, you will love it. It’s so helpful by giving you knowledge, tools, and some peace of mind.”

Reynolds and Lively have become a golden couple in Hollywood and we love how candid they are about parenting! They are completely open about all the ups and downs and always add a humorous twist to their stories about raising two children as a team.
