In late February it was revealed that Michael Lockwood, the ex-husband of Lisa Marie Presley was under investigation for alleged child abuse, but now the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has finished their investigation without filing charges or opening an official case. “Barring any new potential evidence or information, we have concluded our involvement in this matter. We have not been able to determine a crime occurred in Tennessee and accordingly to not have an open investigation,” T.B.I. Public Information Officer Josh DeVine said in a statement.
The incident began in early February when Lisa Marie Presley stated in court documents that her 8-year-old twins were no longer in their custody and that she had found hundreds of inappropriate photos of children saying that she was “shocked and horrified and sick to my stomach.”
Meanwhile, Lisa Marie’s mother Priscilla Presley revealed that she has been caring for her twin granddaughters for nine months now. “This is very personal, and we’re still going through a lot of different scenarios,” Priscilla told Entertainment Tonight. “There’s been a lot of rumors, a lot of speculation, and a lot of everything, which always goes along with these situations… Nothing is sorted out yet. Everything is trying to be sorted out and done with dignity and done with care especially for the children.”
She added, “It’s still a very family-oriented environment for them. They’ve been with me for — it’ll be over nine months. They’re great. They’re doing wonderful. They’re living a great life. They see both their parents, and we’ll see what happens.”
Lisa Marie Presley and Lockwood, her fourth husband, were married in 2006 and welcomed their twins in 2008. Presley filed for divorce in June 2016 citing irreconcilable differences and claims that Lockwood “took advantage” of her financially. As for the claims of child abuse and the inappropriate photos of children, Lockwood’s lawyer, Jeff Sturman stated: Mr. Lockwood and his lawyers believe that it is very unfortunate and inappropriate that Ms. Presley chose to file a one-sided, inaccurate version of the facts in the Family Law Court’s publicly accessible files.“Ms. Presley and her lawyers undoubtedly knew that their highly sensational, inaccurate and unproven claims would be of great interest to the media, which would disseminate Ms. Presley’s inaccurate story as a result.”
