Kristin Cavallari has rarely talked about her brother Michael’s death one year ago but on Monday, November 28, the former reality star took to her Instagram to post an emotional note.

Last November, Michael Cavallari was at the center of a lost persons case in Grand County, Utah after his vehicle was found crashed just off a highway and he could not be located. His body was found days later and it was determined Michael had died of hypothermia at the age of 30.

“The last few days have been tough… yesterday was the anniversary of my brothers passing,” Cavallari began her post. “There hasn’t been a day that’s gone by where I haven’t thought of him and missed him. I know he is watching over me and my family though from all of the amazing signs he has given us. Love and miss you so much, Mikey,” she concluded.

She also included a photo of a close-up of her brother holding her son Camden.

Earlier this year, the mom of three with husband Jay Cutler opened up about getting through the difficult time last year with the help of her children, especially welcoming her daughter Saylor in the same month Michael passed away. “I did at the time, and I still do find a lot of strength in my children, because of the timing of everything. You can’t just stay in bed and feel sorry for yourself. You gotta get up. You have other lives you have to take care of. You have to put food on the table and get them dressed and off to school and everything. So yeah, you can’t just feel sorry for yourself.”
